Iron Man Trailer. Insert Guitar Riffs Here. [Mar. 3rd, 2008|08:50 am]
Iron Man Exclusive Trailer

Add to My Profile | More Videos

Is it just me, or are they trying to capture the Guitar Hero market by playing two songs that, if memory serves me correctly, both appeared in the game?

stopping procrastination [Feb. 18th, 2008|01:21 am]
[mood |chipperback]

If you're anything like me (lets both hope to God that isn't true) then procrastination is probably no longer an obstacle when it comes to working. Its most likely a lifestyle by now. I've gotten so accustomed to either putting off work until the very last minute or relying on a combination of luck and improvisation to get most of my tasks done.

taray [Dec. 26th, 2006|01:51 pm]

Yes yes, I watched the movie with Tycel to cap off our Christmas night. I have this superhero addiction and I have been wanting to find out who Zsazsa Zaturnnah actually is - given the fact that the graphic novel/musical won so many awards and whatnot.

To those of you who have no idea who this big breasted red-haired Wonder Woman facsimile is, well it's pretty much Wonder Woman or Darna with a twist. A BIG twist. The human host of this superpowered bimbo is actually homosexual.

A beautician.

Who speaks that lovable gay lingo.

Hilarity ensues. Ever.

I really wanted to like this movie. The last Filipino movies I watched were "Exodus" and "Gagamboy", and that was enough to cause a slight seizure when local Fantasy/Superheroes were brought up. Given that the material was award winning stuff, I really thought Zsazsa had a chance to be etched into my head as an awesome Pinoy movie.

Don't get me wrong, it was an okay movie, just not something I'd go berserk over (and I'm sorta easy to please). What went wrong though?

- Camera angles were too boring, some frames really missed
- Too many special effects scenes that look embarassing
- Fight scenes repeated the same move over and over again (Punch, block, throw!)
- Comedic timing was slow
- A lot of scenes looked too sparce
- The wigs looked like yarn (Especially Zsa Zsa's!)
- Pops Fernandez's horrible accent <--singlehandedly ruined the movie for me, she should've just used her plain english accent, I swear if I hear "Meeeyle Foooaaaaaahm" again I'm gonna go apeshit.

That's pretty much it because everything else was golden. The casting was great! Everyone fit their roles perfectly (if only Pops spoke without that craptastic British accent) and the acting was actually pretty good *gasps*.

Plus, Zsa Zsa's abs were really something delectable.

The music was really really good. There are some unforgettable songs in there like "Babae na Ako!" (I'm Finally a Girl!) and "Ikaw ang Superhero ng Buhay ko" (You're the Superhero of my Life)- I'm humming the latter as I write this. The musical scenes weren't anything spectacular though, and some of the ensemble numbers really looked too bare - maybe the budget should've gone to more dancers instead of a crappy flying car that looks like it was rendered by a 10 year old with a MacBook.

I mean, fuck, when you see thoroughly unbelievable special effects doesn't something spark inside your head saying "Dude, that's fucking fake, leave it out". Apparently not.

Tycel disagrees with me with this, but I think the story was well-written and the pacing was actually pretty good for a local movie. Usually Filipino movies have this tendency to drag scenes to hell and beyond for the sake of "drama". The movie progressed really well and the only thing that irked me was the fact that some jokes ended up terribly unfunny because the delivery was either too blah or too slow.

All in all, not a bad movie though not a great one either. If you decide to catch it, you'll probably have to put up with a theater full of noisy homos (like I did last night) who keep chattering and howling when Alfred Vargas enters the screen.

Oh man, before I forget, there's this one sight gag that really made me laugh. Check out the contents of the giant frog's stomach, I found it hilarious!

And the zombie backup singers! FLOATING! Hahahaha! Priceless.

It's been an awesome season so far, heres to hoping you guys can share the same sentiment!

And hey,

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Hope everyone survived their holidays!

I know I have, but that's only because I've been saving my liver abuse for NEW YEAR'S! WOOOO!

=========================

Tyke and her parents were talking about their most memorable Christmas gifts. Hers was a bicycle that signified the destruction of the illusion that is Santa Claus, her dad's was a baseball glove (which I find cool since we live in a basketball heavy country), and her mom's wasn't a gift per se, but a sneak at her parents acting as the faux Clauses.

I think my most memorable gift was this battery operated water gun that spewed invisible ink... That wasn't so invisible after all. It looked like the fruitiest AK-47 in the world, had rapid fire squirt capabilities, and made awesome sounds whenever you pulled the trigger.

Oh, how did I find out that the ink didn't fade? Easy, the dogs turned into overnight dalmatians thanks to my newfound toy and false advertising.

I miss my childhood, but hell, who doesn't?

How about you guys, what were your most memorable Christmas gifts?

up up and [Dec. 8th, 2006|12:15 pm]
My internet, it seems, is cockblocking me from downloading things. It allows necessities like the latest Heroes episode (watching this is the new pre-req to becoming my bestestest friend!) and episodes 1-12 of Metalocalypse (which would bring our relationship to a whole new level of intimacy). But things that I want are just... Not downloading. Or worse, downloading at such excruciating long times, taunting me with every second. I have been screaming at the PLDT customer representatives - this digital generation's therapists - for about a week now to no avail. In turn, I have decided to just Zen this shit out.

Bytes On, Bytes Off.

It will solve itself.

==============

I am tired. Thanks to flattery and good ole cajoling by the people around me I have accepted an intense amount of work. Credibility sucks nuts. I really want to ask a P.R. expert if making myself available to different tasks given by different people makes me look credible or slutty. Or maybe even a credible slut.

==============

I saw Mojo Jojo kiss that dude who blew fire for a Coke commercial (Judah _____? Something like that). Holy shit.

The Good Times with Mo event last night was AWESOME. I'm always in awe when that group pulls off stunts like these.

What I didn't get was the fact that the same people who come to me and say "OMG, YOU KNOW MO!? TELL HIM I LOVE HIS SHOW, LALALALA" were the same people who said "I don't want to go to the event, I'm shy." Sayang guys, you all would have had a really great time.

==============

Wise words from someone whom I will call "Jeff".

"This industry is tough man, it will consume your soul."

Well I hope I'm fucking delicious then.

made a list of what is wrong [Oct. 17th, 2006|11:22 am]

[mood |cheerfulthinking too much]
[music |The Fray - How To Save A Life]

I now share the same haircut with the lead singer of The Fray and Justin Chambers (Alex) in the 3rd Season! This must mean something!

This song has replaced "Mr. Jones" by the Counting Crows as my all time favorite song.
"Grey's Anatomy" has - make no mistake this is a fucking difficult feat - replaced "Transformers" as my all time favorite show.

Whenever I play this track at the station I always have to have two more songs ready or the commercials set waaaaay in advance. All because of the fact that I become lost for 4 minutes. I clench my headphones, close my eyes, and disappear. At work, hah! I mean, holy shit, the first time I heard this song as it was chosen as Magic's Pick of the Week, the first time I heard it play during an episode (the one with the superstition theme), and the first time I saw this music video, EVERY ONE OF THOSE FIRST TIMES I ended up breathless and glossy eyed. Word by word, this song just consumes me - for the lack of a better term - everytime I listen to it. MJ, my new partner, can attest to that. Thankfully she didn't give me a weird glance or anything akin to that while I was staring into space in Studio 2. Maybe she understands. Or maybe she didn't want to get infected by the crazy her partner was demonstrating in front of her.

I have a class that deals with the Philosophy of Aesthetics. It's where beauty and reason co-exist to bore you for a semester. Feminism, Marxism, Post-Blablaism, Deconblablaism, all these isms explaining why art is the way it is. Things are beautiful because they follow this sort of logic or reason or purpose or... the list just goes on and on.

If you ask me though, something beautiful is something that hits you. That just slams into you and makes you thank whatever fates may be while you're still listening to the roar of the impact.

Simply put, beauty is power.

I can keep rambling on and use the cliches like how it can launch a thousand ships and kill Brad Pitt and Aragorn in the span of a three hour movie. But I wont. But I will say this

It's enough to save a life.

=====================

So Rio has also gotten hooked on the anatomy of the woman named Grey. The lewd text messages about how much we want to fuck her eyes has finally begun. What mixture of races (or pedigree) spawned her amazing I-wanna-get-lost-in-them-like-the-way-they-do-in-a-cheesy-ballad eyes? Pompeo? Is that Greek or Italian?

The plot for me to get casted as McAsian for the 10th season has commenced. I think I'll look cool in scrubs.

World domination is ours!

=====================

Who's the "JC" that called Mo's show this morning? Thanks for saying hi to me bud, and sorry you were called a level 1 fag for greeting me first, hahaha! Can't help but be flattered.
